Atoifi Adventist Hospital offers not only help for those in need but also has a nursing school of about 70 student at the moment. the students come from all over the Solomon Islands and some even from Vanuatu and PNG and other pacific islands. Students receive a very practical training and I had the privilige to attend some of the nursing classes and also visit the students in the wards which I enjoyed much!

On Sunday the 16th of August the nursing students, which we the eastward students had trained before, did the first Health Expo in the Salomon Islands! Health Expo is a program of health assesment and health education following the principle of the 8 health laws (NEWSTART which stands for nutrition, exercise, water, sunshine, temperance, air, rest and trust in God) The whole program was a big success and over hundred of people from the sourrounding communities took part in it which created a greater interest and awareness in health.
Me with two nursing students. We were at the same booth about rest.
Calvin is practising his chair massage on me :)
We got a really good feed back by all the students involved and they would like to do it again.
