Signs of the Times in Australia

In Australia we all have seen these pictures over and over again. One place is extreamly dry while the other gets so much rain that it floods. In the terible bushfires of Victoria over 200 people lost their lives and many more lost their homes and all their possessions.

The question that arises is again: Why does God permit these disasters to happen, allowing so much pain, grief and suffering? Does God care?

God is just. God is love. He changes not, "no variableness, neighter shadow of turning." James 1:17 He is touched with our feelings, and when we suffer he suffers too.
He is "longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

"As men depart further and further from God, Satan is permitted to have power over the children of disobedience. He hurls destruction among men. There is calamity by land and sea. Property and life are destroyed by fire and flood. "Maranatha p. 176

"The restraining Spirit of God is even now being withdrawn from the world. Hurricanes, storms, tempests, disasters by sea and by land, follow one another in quick succession. The signs thickening around us, telling of the near approach of the Son of God, are attributed to any other than the true cause." Maranatha p. 175

God allows those things to happen, that you and me may come to our senses and turn to God before it is too late!

"Today the signs of the times declare that we are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Everything in our world is in agitation. Before our eyes is fulfilling the Saviour's prophecy of the events to precede His coming: "Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. . . . Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

The present is a time of overwhelming interest to all living. Rulers and statesmen, men who occupy positions of trust and authority, thinking men and women of all classes, have their attention fixed upon the events taking place about us. They are watching the relations that exist among the nations. They observe the intensity that is taking possession of every earthly element, and they recognize that something great and decisive is about to take place--that the world is on the verge of a stupendous crisis." Maranatha p. 68

But amidst all this we can have peace. Jesus envites you: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Matthew 11:28,29 Only through a living realtionship with Jesus Christ can we have peace of mind and a safe insurance that he is in control. To be in God's will is the safest palce on earth!!

Read your bible today! It is God's loveletter for you!

Deep thougths! that makes me think.
It's very sad to see this happening, but somehow we can keep hope and trust in God, that He has everything in His hands.

Nice to see and read your experiences!
